Nicole and I have been round and round on the subject of the Rental House we own. Do we sell it? Do we rent it? Do we sell it? Do we rent it? Selling it would bring a good amount of profit and would help us get Sallie (short for Sallie Mae student loans) out of my house. She eats a lot and will not go away quickly. The problem is that we need to invest on some renovations like ceramic tile and new carpet. With renting it we actually pay ourselves every month the renters pay because they pay on the mortgage. Renting is a long term investment instead of the quick buck.
A good realtor Cindy Nobles will be coming by to look at the house and give me some pointers on what I need to do to get the most $$ when I sell it (one day). But pretty much what we have decided to do is to keep on renting it though. I am praying that we get some long-term renters. The last family only stayed 2 months and could not afford the rent so they moved out. They really did a good job of cleaning the house after they moved and let me know their decision a few weeks ahead of time. I guess I got lucky on that one.
